The Wildcat project is located 26 miles
south-southwest of the Hycroft Mine in the Seven Troughs mining
district, Pershing County, Nevada. District ore production
has historically been through small-scale vein development.
The project encompasses 6,740 acres.
Epithermal gold and silver at Wildcat
occur along structurally controlled zones hosted in
volcanics. The principal low-grade zone that essentially
encompassed all the mineralization is tabular and dips to
the southeast.
On November 11, 2003, Mine Development
Associates of Reno, Nevada completed a third-party technical
study for Vista Gold using data from one underground channel
sample, 245 reverse-circulation drill holes, and 11 diamond
drill holes totaling 95,466 feet. Gold mineralized material
above a cut-off grade of 0.010 ounces of gold per-ton was
estimated at 38.1 million tons grading 0.018 ounces of gold
per-ton and 0.16 ounces of silver per-ton. On August 14,
2006, MDA of Reno, Nevada issued a technical report
describing the project and technical work done by it
previously.
